Protection plans 101

Full Insurance Cover

All our rental cars are insured for road use in Mauritius. This helps protect you in case of an accident, damage, or unexpected situation during your rental period.

No Deposit Required

Most car rental companies ask for a deposit of around EUR 500 before handing over the vehicle. At YOLO Car Rental, we do not charge a deposit.

Excess Amount

In case of an accident or damage, the insurance excess is MUR 25,000. This is the maximum excess amount payable depending on the situation and after inspection of the vehicle.

Vehicle Inspection

Before and after every rental, the car is checked carefully. Any scratches, dents, or damage are reviewed based on the condition report and vehicle examination.

All vehicles are covered by insurance for normal road use in Mauritius.

The renter remains responsible for:

  • Traffic fines
  • Parking fines
  • Fuel
  • Lost keys
  • Damage caused by negligence
  • Driving under alcohol or drugs
  • Off-road driving
  • Damage not reported to our team
  • Any accident not declared properly
  • The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received. Any scratch, dent, interior damage, missing item, or accident will be assessed after inspection.
